Cookies and Local Storage

The short version

weirmoon.com sets no cookies of its own, loads no analytics or advertising scripts, and stores nothing for tracking or advertising in your browser. That is why there is no cookie banner: a banner exists to ask permission for optional tracking storage, and there is none to ask about.

The only things the site keeps in your browser are (1) what it needs to remember that you are signed in, and only if you sign in, and (2) your story-reader settings and place, and only if you use the reader. Both stay on your device and are never sent to us.

What is stored, item by item

If you never sign in and never open a story chapter, you can expect nothing from this site in your browser at all. The reader items contain no personal information and are never transmitted; clearing your browser's site data for weirmoon.com removes them.

Third parties, only if you choose

• YouTube and Twitch videos are not loaded until you click the play button on the video's placeholder. After that click, the provider's player loads and may set its own cookies or storage under its own policy. YouTube is loaded through youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which does not set tracking cookies until you play.
• Sign in with Google and Sign in with Microsoft open a window on that provider's own site. Anything that provider stores is covered by its policy.
• Links to other sites take you out of weirmoon.com; we do not control what they store.

Fonts, scripts, and images for the site itself are served from weirmoon.com. Nothing on a normal page view contacts a third-party content network.

Your choices

You can clear site data, or block storage for weirmoon.com, at any time in your browser's settings. If you block storage, the site still works — you just will not be able to stay signed in, and the reader will forget your settings and place. You do not need to do anything to keep your browsing private; there is no tracking to switch off.

If this changes

If the site ever adds anything that is not strictly necessary — analytics, an advertising network, or an affiliate tracker, for example — we will first:

1. update this page and the Privacy Policy;
2. add a clear choice, off by default where the law requires it, before the item loads; and
3. make refusing as easy as accepting.
